Product Overview
The PNW-XN3 is a 3-way passive crossover network designed to expand an existing 2-way component speaker system into a full 3-way setup by adding a dedicated midrange driver to your midbass and tweeter combination. It is an ideal solution when active crossovers or a DSP are not available or simply do not fit the budget.
Compatible with both AudioControl PNW and Altitude series speakers, the PNW-XN3 simplifies system design and installation by combining all crossover functions into a single network. This eliminates the need for separate crossovers for each individual driver, reducing wiring complexity and saving valuable installation time. Only one PNW-XN3 is required per complete 3-way front stage, supporting a total of six speakers.
When supplied with a full-range signal, the PNW-XN3 accurately divides frequencies and routes them to the appropriate drivers:
• Midbass frequencies to 6.5-inch or 6×9-inch woofers (WF outputs)
• Midrange frequencies to 2.75-inch or 3.5-inch midrange speakers (MD outputs)
• High frequencies to tweeters (TW outputs)
The flexible input section allows the PNW-XN3 to deliver six channels of output whether it is fed by 2, 4, or 6 channels of input. As a fully passive crossover network, it requires no power, ground, or turn-on connections, further streamlining installation and improving reliability.
